I hero/henched it including the Masters, here is how i did it:
Party was me (barrage ranger with rebirth), Koss, olias an a healer hero. Henchies where fire ele, hammer warrior and the 2 monks, sry i always forget there names.
I killed them up to first stairs, cleared them on the left and right in the first room and then placed my 3 hero flags there and went on with the henchies. Killed a group, ran back, killed a group, ran back, ... etc.... always running back to help the heros deal with the patrols so they dont pass and kill the mission critical NPC. Dont bother to try to protect the 2 ghosts in the middle, you will split your atention to much then.
Always keep an eye on the radar. When your killing a group on the stairs (for the masters) and you see a patrol on the move, leave the group and run back to your heros.
So the trick is to not just leave them there to deal with the patrols, but always run back yourself to help them. It takes about 3 times as long to finnish compared to a human group but at least you get it done.

This was a pain to beat.. maybe around 15x times, yes!, i tried this. Sometimes it took hours just for a single try... /shrug - but it did feel good after it was done.
My tactic was, i only worried about two spirits, near the stairs. I spawned the second spirit, waited for patrol first after them i left my group near the spirit and body pulled the easiest stationary group from the right. Wait for patrol if they didn't come already and quickly pull the last group.
After that i spawned the third spirit and went forward from either left or right, depending on where the patrol last came from. Aggro harbringer, drop a light and get a new one - fight patrols as they come / repeat for the other harbringer too and get one more light.
Hit & Run tactics against the stationary margonite groups on the otherside of the gap, each time you see a patrol leaving/spawning quickly intercept them, it will take a while to clear the area and sometimes you get additional aggro from the bonus-groups.. watch out for that.
The nightbringer chased me to the spirit near the stairs, patrol joined it too shortly after - (that was mad..) i didn't plan that but i guess i got lucky, it took 3 lights to kill it. It took me 4 hours to finally beat it with players its probably much more easier, as you dont have to do everything yourself. There was so.. many corpses, like hundreds. MM would have been pleased.

A question, something i'm very curious about in this mission...
Do the marganite patrols respawn? or are they hidden at the back its
just everytime i try this mission it feels like ive killed 50 patrols & still
they keep coming?!

Yes the patrols respawn as long as the last Harbinger is alive.
